Anniversary of the destruction of the Jannatul-Baqi by Ale-Saud

The demolition of Jannatul-Baqi on 8 Shawwal,1345AH(April 21,1925) at the hands of Al-e-Saud was a great tragedy in the history of Islam.
Jannat-ul-Baqi is simply a graveyard but Muslims all over the world attach it a high importance because it is situated in Madinat-ur-Rasool Where besides great companions of prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h)his infallible progenitor Imam Hasan Ibn Ali (2nd Imam), Imam Ali Ibn Al-Husayn (4th imam), Imam Muhammad Ibn Ali (5th imam), & Imam Ja`far Ibn Muhammad (6th imam), peace be upon them, are buried.

Visiting the Shrines of the Prophets, Imams and Saints

Some people accuse the Shias of believing that it is permissible to visit the shrines of the Prophets, Imams and saints, building them, to seek blessings through them, to pray and make supplications around them whereas it is prohibited to consider tombs as mosques or to build mosques upon tombs.

Cultural Relations Between Christianity and Shi’i Islam

This paper was presented at the conferences of Islam and Orthodox Christianity in the month of Sharivar 1373 (September 1994), in Tehran by the Center of International Studies and Culture.
The history of the Shi`ah and Christian cultural relations is comparatively old. Of these relations may be mentioned inter-religious dialogue in the area of Kalam that took place in a spirit of complete mutual understanding. In the works of the Shi`ah this is discussed in detail.
